Postpartum Classes

Ara postnatal classes focus on recovery post birth. We work on pelvic floor and core function, building full body strength and mobility, and incorporating mindful, creative and joyful movement. 

These classes are designed for the first 6-12 weeks postpartum. You can even start these classes the day you give birth if you are feeling keen! The focus here is on breath work, reconnecting with your pelvic floor and core muscles, and slow and gentle stretching to get reacquainted with your body after the incredible work it has done for you and your bub.

These classes include circuit or flow based formats incorporating active mobility, PNF and passive stretching. These classes are perfect during the postpartum period to rebuild strength through the joints without putting high impact load on the healing body.

Body weight exercises in a circuit-based style to help you rebuild your strength whilst working with the body to heal from pregnancy and birth. Some classes incorporate hand weights or resistance bands. 

Explore alternative ways to move – these classes include styles such as locomotion, animal movement, creative movement patterns and drills that look a little like dance, yoga, mobility and capoeira combined. Sleepless nights and long days looking after a little person can be so draining. These classes are designed to be fun and energising whilst getting you moving in novel ways.

Safe and effective exercises to support your core recovery and rebuild your core strength. Prevent back, hip and pelvic pain and create stability throughout the whole body.
